The organization of professional meetings has a central place in the whole project. They should allow the presentation of status results of case studies undertaken, to compare them to other archaeological and historical researches conducted by members of the group and external teams.
Moreover, these meetings should allow the setting in motion of the collaborative dynamic of composition of the online documentary database, through the platform developed on this site. As in other subjects, the comparison between Greek and Roman world data looks particularly fruitful, both because of the similarity of problems and methods and because of the diversity of lightings provided by sources. Indeed, literature about the inner workings of warehouses from the Roman period can be examined in more detail, while Greek literature, which focuses more on state actors, recursively raises the question of the storage structures’ place within the city and in the trade networks.
Two colloquia are planned, the first in March 2010, the second in 2012. You can find here information specific to each event (call for papers, programme, and registration)
